Legal & policies
Last updated: June 2026
We want everyone to be able to use this website, whatever their abilities or the technology they use. As a church and a charity, accessibility is both a legal duty (under the Equality Act 2010) and an expression of our care for people.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. This includes clear colour contrast, keyboard navigation, descriptive text for images, captioned video where possible, generously sized tap targets, and a visible focus indicator.
What we're doing
- Designing mobile-first with readable text and a "skip to content" link.
- Providing transcripts for sermons and working towards captions on video.
- Testing with keyboard navigation and screen-reader considerations.
- Reviewing accessibility as part of every significant change.
Tell us
We know we won't always get it right. If you find something hard to use, or need information in a different format, please contact us at hello@hispresencenewcastle.org.uk and we'll do our best to put it right and help you directly.
